#Tecámac, #Edoméx.- The municipal president, Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante, proposed that in view of the crime rates registered on the highways and roads in the area, the municipalities could participate in the surveillance of these roads, in order to safeguard the integrity of the motorists and carriers who circulate daily and are exposed to the lack of surveillance.

While attending the Meeting of the Northeast Region Intermunicipal Council, he explained that the National Guard and State Police should increase their force on the roads and highways, but if this is not possible, they should allow the municipal authorities to intervene through an agreement, especially at this time when the flow of vehicles is increasing due to the start-up of the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA).

She pointed out that with this new airport terminal, there is also an increase in crimes on the highways, which is why she said that it is necessary to periodically hold these meetings to implement security actions.

«To the National Guard and the State Police we ask them to pay more attention to security, to monitor more federal and state highways, because it is notorious the lack of elements and patrols in proportion to the volume of vehicle traffic.

This has led to an increase in theft of cargo and passenger vehicles, in addition to the fact that more and more motorists are evading the payment of tolls, which I have reported and even sanctioned. If it is not possible to increase the state of force on these highways, an agreement will allow us municipalities to intervene,» she said.
