#EstadoDeMéxico.- In order to increase water infrastructure and expand drainage coverage in the state, the Government of the State of Mexico started the third stage of construction of the sanitary sewerage system in the indigenous community of San Felipe Coamango, in the municipality of Chapa de Mota.

This last phase, under the responsibility of the Water Commission of the State of Mexico (CAEM), consists of the installation of 5.1 kilometers of 30-inch diameter piping, the construction of 140 manholes and 150 household connections, benefiting 1,800 inhabitants of the State of Mexico. The three stages of the hydraulic work involve 37.5 million pesos.

Raúl Chaparro Valdés, CAEM’s General Director of the Hydraulic Program, accompanied Leticia Mejía García, Secretary of the Countryside and Regional Commissioner III in Atlacomulco, who reiterated that Governor Alfredo Del Mazo Maza prioritizes drinking water and drainage works through the efficiency of resources.

She also commented that this type of work is not visible, but it is felt in the health of the people of Mexico, because when there is no drainage, sewage is a source of infection for the entire population.

For his part, Chaparro Valdés said that the Commission is committed to improving the living conditions of the people of Mexico through basic services and an example of this is this sanitary sewerage system, which in its three stages covers more than 35 kilometers of piping.
