#SanMiguelDeAllende, #Gto.- With the update to the tax coordination and administrative collaboration agreement, San Miguel de Allende has modernized its lodging services and is «spearheading» in tax collection.

The addendum to Annex 6 of said agreement (the first in the state of Guanajuato) was signed at the Municipal Palace by the municipal president, Mauricio Trejo; the general director of the Tax Administration System of the State of Guanajuato (Sateg) Marisol de Lourdes Ruenes and as witnesses of honor the president of the Finance and Taxation Commission of the State Congress, Deputy Victor Zanella and local Deputy Katya Soto.

This agreement has the purpose of generating a synergy between the Municipality, the State and the local Legislative Branch to work together for the benefit of the people of San Miguel and to serve as a model for other municipal governments in the territory of Guanajuato.

«It is not against anyone, it is in favor of everyone. It is so that all of San Miguel pulls together. Then, the change of land use allows Civil Protection to go and make the revisions and guarantee safety for whoever rents it. If you do not show me your land use, if you do not show me that you are an established formal business, how do you want to defend yourself before the Law of Extinction of Ownership? As soon as you have that land use, you will be protected, because it is the first step to become a formal business. This is an action that we are taking to protect their patrimony. The fact that in San Miguel de Allende we are demanding that all those who are on these platforms change their land use corresponds to fair competition, to a level playing field, but also to the protection of their patrimony,» said President Mauricio Trejo, who is leading these efforts, where San Miguel de Allende is a state example in terms of service regulation and tax collection for lodging services, including now the rental of houses for temporary lodging.
