#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) highlighted that, according to information from the Migratory Policy Unit-Registration and Identity of Persons of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), this figure also exceeds arrivals for the same period in 2019, with 8%, when 17 million 85 thousand international tourists were registered.

He indicated that the main countries in international tourist arrivals by air to Mexico from January to November 2022, were the United States, Canada and Colombia, with 13 million 948 thousand tourists; this is 43.6% more compared to 2021, and also surpassing by 16.5% the 11 million 977 thousand tourists of 2019.

Torruco Marqués pointed out that during the first 11 months of the year, U.S. tourist arrivals by air reached 11 million 706 thousand tourists, which means 30.2% more compared to 2021, when 8 million 990 thousand tourists arrived, also surpassing by 24.1% the 2019 arrivals, which were 9 million 430 thousand tourists.

He added that the arrival of Canadian tourists between January and November 2022 was one million 455 thousand tourists, that is 338.9% higher than the 331 thousand 391 tourists that arrived in 2021; being 27.5% away from reaching those captured in 2019, which were 2 million 5 thousand tourists.
