50 Mexican National Guard barracks to guarantee peace and tranquility in Jalisco / @lopezobrador_ @GobiernoMX >>>

#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador highlighted that this year Jalisco will have 50 National Guard barracks equipped to guarantee the peace and tranquility of the population.

«This had never been done before and it is not only the construction of the barracks, it is the National Guard elements (…) To have the antecedent, think that, for ten years or a little more, the so-called Federal Police was maintained and they did not build a single barracks in the country», he referred after heading the meeting of the Security Cabinet in the state.

The Secretary of National Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval González, pointed out that in the state there are currently 6,536 operative members of the corporation deployed in a state coordination and 15 regional ones located in Ameca, Autlán de Navarro, Colotlán, Guadalajara, Jocotepec, La Barca, Lagos de Moreno, Mascota, Puerto Vallarta, Tepatitlán de Morelos, Tequila, Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Tonalá, Zapopan and Zapotlán del Rey.

To date, 30 National Guard facilities have been completed, in addition to four facilities provided by the Army. The construction of 16 more companies is planned, bringing the total to 50 barracks by 2023.

During a morning press conference in Zapopan, the head of the Sedena reported that the security forces have reached 33,063 operational elements between the Secretariats of National Defense and the Navy, the National Guard and the state and municipal police.
