ALONSO PM: guide and organizer of this Papitas con Queso event, presents: Carnaval de Tlayacapan, Pueblo Mágico, 2023 / 6th anniversary of Papitas con Queso.

Sunday, February 19th.

Because we are 6 years old, the birthplace of the chinelo, the Pueblo Mágico de Tlayacapan (one of our favorite places and where we did some of our first tours), is ready to welcome us with the beginning of the carnival; one of the best in central Mexico, where these colorful and friendly people have been jumping around since the nineteenth century.

We will learn about the history and some curiosities of the main tourist attractions of the community, while the music of the comparsas invites us to join the celebration. If our beloved Papitas prefer, we can also visit the chapel of Santa Ana and climb the Amixtepec or Los Gatos hill, a site with vestiges of pre-Hispanic times, from where we will have a fabulous view. Join the party!
