#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) stressed that, in 2022, 38.3 million international tourists entered the country, which represents a recovery of 85.1 percent compared to what was observed in 2019, this is only 14.9 percent below what was recorded in that year.

He stated that from January to December 2022, 21.3 million inbound tourists arrived by air, surpassing with 8.6 percent the inbound tourists captured in the same period of 2019, which were 19.6 million tourists.

Foreign exchange income from international tourists in January-December 2022, was 26 thousand 346.9 million dollars, which means an increase of 17.9 percent the foreign exchange of the same period 2019, when 22 thousand 354 million dollars were captured.

He added that the average expenditure of inbound tourists by air in 2022 was 1,105.7 dollars, an increase of 10.4 percent over the average expenditure in 2019.
