For better care, State of Veracruz prepares registry of people with autism spectrum disorder / @CuitlahuacGJ @GobiernoVer >>>

#EstadoDeVeracruz.- After the publication and dissemination of the Guide for the care of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the Government of Veracruz is working on the creation of a state registry to identify cases and ensure quality service in health and education agencies, among others, in order to achieve greater inclusion in their environment.

For this reason, the Inter-institutional Committee for the Attention, Intervention, Protection and Inclusion of persons with ASD, supported by the Mexican Organization VIAutism Inclusive, harmonizes the relationship of the entities, giving priority to data protection, since most of those diagnosed are minors.

After detecting the warning signs, the assessment must be carried out free of charge by the Ministry of Health, which will act according to the type of disorder, and the Mental Health network will provide psycho-emotional support to the family. Subsequently, parents or guardians will share the diagnosis with the school board and the Secretary of Education will make the necessary curricular and physical adjustments.

In turn, the Ministry of Social Development will incorporate this priority sector in its programs, while the Ministry of Labor, Social Welfare and Productivity will identify skills and facilitate job opportunities, in coordination with the National Employment Service.
