Governor recognizes rescue workers from Querétaro who helped during the earthquake in Turkey / @makugo @gobqro >>>

#EstadoDeQuerétaro.- The governor, Mauricio Kuri González, received at the Government Palace the rescuer Edgar Martínez Olguín, accompanied by Balam and Orly, Border Collie dogs, members of the Mexican Red Cross Search and Rescue Canine Unit, to whom he presented commemorative medals in recognition of their relief work in Turkey, after the earthquakes of February 6.

The state governor spoke with Edgar Martinez about their participation and that of the canines in disaster areas, acts of courage that led them to rescue four people alive and 36 dead in 11 days of operation in Adıyaman, Turkey; they also talked about the collaboration with the authorities of the affected country, to respond to the emergency call.

Kuri Gonzalez celebrated the efforts of the rescuers in such adverse events as the one occurred in Turkey and some places in Syria, in this framework he announced that his administration will contribute to the purchase of a transport unit for the Mexican Red Cross, Queretaro delegation, for the benefit of rescue dogs and their trainers.

The rescuer, Edgar Martinez Olguin, thanked the support provided by the State Government and shared details about the journey he faced with Balam and Orly in a journey of more than 30 hours to reach a country with sub-zero temperatures, collapsed buildings and thousands of devastated people.
