#GobiernoDeMéxico.- In December of this year, the rehabilitation of the railroad tracks from Coatzacoalcos in Veracruz to Palenque, Chiapas, which are part of the consolidation of the Inter-Oceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, will be completed, affirmed President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

«With the Secretary of the Navy, the section from Palenque to Coatzacoalcos, which was abandoned, is being rehabilitated (…) The station has already been rehabilitated, the tracks are being improved. In December, we will have that track rehabilitated, from Coatzacoalcos to Palenque», he pointed out.

In a morning press conference he informed that the section from Coatzacoalcos to Salina Cruz will be finished in August, which will represent a link between the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

«It is the entire Isthmus communicated. In addition, we are also working -and progress is being made, we are already about 80 percent advanced, which we will also finish in December- widening the Isthmus highway. So, there is going to be a railroad, a wide and modern highway and the two ports», he added.

After the supervision tour he made in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec last weekend, President López Obrador said that thanks to the platform expansion works and the installation of the breakwater, the port of Salina Cruz will reach a high container reception, with which its capacity will be equivalent to that of the ports of Manzanillo, Colima or Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán.

The President announced that in 15 days the Mexican Government will launch the bidding process to build ten industrial parks in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.
