#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador indicated that the Government of the Fourth Transformation prioritizes attention to the country’s youth with work and study opportunities. Since the beginning of his administration, he has been granting scholarships, which has contributed to reducing school dropout rates at the elementary, middle and high school levels.

According to data from the Ministry of Public Education presented by the president at the morning press conference, the dropout rate in higher secondary education went from 13 percent in the 2018-2019 school year to 9.2 percent in 2023.

«Our fight against organized crime is essentially about not taking young people, not getting them hooked, taking away young people with study and work opportunities,» he said.

He pointed out that one hundred campuses of the Benito Juarez Garcia University for Wellbeing were created in the country, among which the degrees of Integral Medicine and Community Health, as well as Nursing and Obstetrics are taught, which will train more health personnel in order to reverse the deficit. To date, there are 30,000 students in these careers.
