#SanMiguelDeAllende, #Gto.- With national quality standards in landfill management, the Municipal Administration of San Miguel de Allende achieved national certification of its specialized officials.

By training to offer a better service to the people of San Miguel de Allende, members of the cleaning staff of the Department of Public Services and Quality of Life, achieved the certification «Good practices for the operation and functioning of sanitary landfills», through the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt).

This course was held virtually from June 12 to 16, while the practical training took place on June 28 at the landfill in the municipality of Minatitlán, Veracruz.

For this specialized training, this group of San Miguel municipal employees practiced with the tools of the landfill of that municipality, to learn more about the use of heavy machinery and the shaping of the cells, to apply it efficiently in the operation of the San Miguel landfill.

Janet Ramírez Granados, a certified member of San Miguel, pointed out the environmental relevance of properly confining people’s garbage in an adequate space: «They are important because many people see a landfill as a common dump, where you just go and throw away the garbage and that’s it. No, everything must be treated, so that the garbage is not exposed, it is more than anything else to become aware of the garbage».
