#EstadoDeMéxico.- In the last six years, the State of Mexico has reaffirmed its strategic position for the national economy by being a development engine in the center of the country, as a result of promoting actions in the area of regulatory improvement and its road infrastructure, which in turn is reflected in the generation of jobs, Governor Alfredo Del Mazo Maza emphasized.

«The Mexican economy, as we were observing, is the second largest in Mexico, it ranks 62nd among world economies; nationally, it represents more than 9.2 percent of the GDP, 12 percent of economic units, eight percent of jobs and, in six years, more than 85 thousand new small, medium and large companies have opened,» he said.

Del Mazo Maza emphasized that the productive plant of the State of Mexico stands out for its level of integration in specialized and technified manufacturing chains, and together the automotive, aerospace, food, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors represent the second place nationally, with 9.7 percent of the total manufacturing production, one million jobs and more than 65 thousand economic units.

The state governor reported some of the progress that the State of Mexico has made in terms of economic development, which has been generated in conjunction with the business sector.

Among them, he pointed out that the State of Mexico is one of the best connected entities in the country, with more than 16,500 kilometers of highways and roads, and nearly 80 percent of the country’s cargo passes through the State of Mexico.

He pointed out that his administration invested in several road works to strengthen the connectivity of the state, such as the access roads to Lerma, the Toluca International Airport and the Macrolibramiento, among others.
