#Tecámac, #Edoméx.- The municipal president of Tecámac, Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante, put into operation the Office of the Attorney for the Elderly, to address cases of violence, neglect and abuse of this population sector, since she said that so far this year 126 victims have been registered, that is to say one every third day.

After lamenting the situation of abandonment and mistreatment in Tecamaquenses homes, where it is estimated that there are 46 thousand elderly adults, he pointed out that 100 of the total affected are women and 26 men, which represents an average of 15 per month, and for this reason he stressed the importance of having an area specialized in the subject.

In the framework of Grandparents Day, which he commemorated in the temporary shelter «Ikram Antaki, where an average of 30 people are attended, he indicated that since the beginning of his government has this care center, given the urgent need that was detected to have facilities to care for older adults to the indifference of their families.

«In these facilities of the municipal DIF is where I find the greatest sense of the historical era that I have been in charge of», he stated when he also announced the beginning of a notary day throughout September to assist senior citizens who want to make their wills, and also that the Civil Registry Office will process birth and divorce certificates free of charge.
