#Guanajuato, #Gto.-In order to promote responsible ownership and the culture of adoption of pets, more than 160 people and dogs walked through the streets of the historic center of the city of Guanajuato.

«We want to generate awareness so that more people adopt and give dogs and cats a second chance to have a life full of love,» said the president of the Municipal DIF, Samantha Smith, who at the same time stressed that pets are also part of the family.

The second Moviendo Guanajuato «Contigo a casa» walk was organized by the Municipal Government. The walk began in the garden of Embajadoras and concluded in the plazuela de San Fernando with an animal fair.

Samantha Smith said that the Animal Control and Attention Center (CECAA) of the Municipality has sterilized 560 dogs and cats and has put 250 pets up for adoption so far in 2023.

She also said that this walk will take place once a month, through the social strategy Guanajuato Con Sentido and with the support of the Queen of the City, Paola I, and the General Directorate of Social and Human Development, as well as the Animal Protection Council.
