#Atizapán, #Edoméx.- The perception of insecurity in Atizapán de Zaragoza continues to fall, which maintains it as the safest municipality in the State of Mexico, according to the Urban Public Safety Survey (ENSU) corresponding to the third quarter of the year, published yesterday by the Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), which reveals that the 61.7% recorded in June of this year went to 56.4% in September, that is, 5.3 percentage points less than the immediately preceding quarter.

In addition to the fact that 56.4% positions the district below the national average, which is 61.4%, the municipal government headed by Mayor Pedro Rodríguez Villegas has reduced the perception of insecurity by 18.6% in 21 months, since in January 2022, when his administration began, it was at 75%.

As part of the security strategy implemented in Atizapán de Zaragoza by the Directorate of Public Safety and Transit, headed by Fabián Ricardo Gómez Calcáneo, through actions such as the Community Quadrant Surveillance Plan, recognized by national and international bodies, in the quarter under evaluation, In the quarter under evaluation, actions such as the delivery of 50,000 copies of the Situational Crime Prevention Manual in schools, neighborhoods and shopping centers, a document that shares tips and suggestions so that citizens can prevent and avoid risk situations, know how to act when a crime is committed, in addition to encouraging the reporting of crimes.

Another security measure implemented in Atizapán de Zaragoza this year is the Blindaje Esmeralda program, which strengthens security in shopping malls and businesses, initially in the Emerald Zone, and with a view to establishing it in the Central de Abasto Las Bodegas and the rest of the commercial areas of the district.

In addition, the delivery of 2,602 5.11 uniforms, 320 ballistic vests and 640 ballistic badges to dignify police officers, along with ongoing training for officers, salary and rank increases and the delivery of equipment.

In total, so far this Administration, 5,322 uniforms of the same brand and quality have been delivered in Atizapán de Zaragoza, as well as two pairs of boots for each police officer. Regarding vests and ballistic badges, between last year and this year, 672 and 1,344, respectively, have been given.

And to strengthen public safety and traffic work in the municipality, mainly in commercial and banking areas, as well as places of difficult access such as ravines, high areas or alleys, 15 motorcycles were delivered to elements of the police corporation, in addition to the 163 new patrols that were delivered last year, bringing the total number of patrols in operation to 249.
