#GobiernoDeMéxico.- Sections 6 and 7 of the Tren Maya that run from Tulum, Quintana Roo to Escárcega, Campeche, contemplate two fundamental works for cargo transportation that will improve the economy and trade in the southeast of the country, informed the general director, Óscar David Lozano Águila.
In a morning press conference with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, he indicated that in Chetumal there will be a multimodal terminal and in Xpujil an operations yard is foreseen with the purpose of optimizing the mobility of goods as part of the projects in charge of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) in the routes.

Nine stations are included in this type of work: Tulum Airport, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Limones-Chacchoben, Bacalar, Chetumal Airport, Kohunlich, Xpujil, Calakmul and Centenario, as well as two maintenance bases and a workshop and garage.

The construction of section 5, from Cancun Airport to Tulum, in Quintana Roo, is progressing as a result of the efforts of the Sedena and construction companies that are consolidating the northern and southern subsections, respectively; it will have two maintenance bases and three stations: Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen and Tulum.

Section 5 north, from Cancun to Playa del Carmen, registers a physical progress of 47.53 percent in the consolidation of 43.3 kilometers of electrified double track on viaduct and embankment. Among the works in progress are the placement of posts and the laying of catenary cables for the electrification of the tracks, detailed the general resident engineer and commander of the Felipe Ángeles engineering group, Ricardo Vallejo Suárez.

Section 6, from Tulum to Chetumal, includes 255.8 kilometers of electrified double track with a 52.87 percent development in the construction of elevated viaducts, vehicular bridges, wildlife crossings and drainage works.
