San Miguel de Allende experiences the beginning of public Christmas celebrations / @MauricioTrejoP @GobMunicipalSMA >>>

#SanMiguelDeAllende, #Gto.- Through the Department of Culture and Traditions, the Municipal Presidency initiated the «Posadas Públicas».

With this began the period of the nine days of celebrations that are taking place in the different colonies and neighborhoods of the municipality; this tradition began in the neighborhood of Valle del Maíz and in Infonavit La Luz.

«We wanted, as in previous years, to start our Posadas Públicas in the neighborhoods and colonias. There is the participation of many people, of many children, which is the important thing, that we can continue the tradition and that it can be sown in the spirit of the new generations, so that this will last. The invitation to keep the traditions alive, to allow them to continue, to bring the new generations closer to learn about the traditional richness of San Miguel and to work together so that this does not end, so that this is maintained with more intensity,» said Acacio Martinez, head of Culture and Traditions.

As part of this first posada, a tour was made through the main streets of the neighborhood until arriving at the chapel of the area, where the neighbors tasted tamales, atoles, buñuelos and the traditional aguinaldos.

For the nine days of celebration, the Government of San Miguel presented a very complete line-up of activities that began on Saturday and will close on Christmas Eve, December 24th, with two posadas per day, starting at 7:00 pm. Among the places that will be receiving the celebrations are: Guadalupe, San Rafael, Santa Julia, San Felipe, Aurora, Olimpo, San Luis Rey, Allende, among others, ending the festivities on Sunday 24th at the Parish of San Miguel Arcángel.
