In the CDMX, Tlalpan Mayor’s Office installs Christmas tree collection centers / @alfagonzalezm @TlalpanAl >>>

#Tlalpan, #CDMX.- In order to promote practices that care for the environment, the Tlalpan City Hall will start collecting natural Christmas trees from January 8 to February 15 of this year, in different strategic points of the demarcation.

Through the campaign «Tree by Tree, Your City Greens 2024», the mayor’s office seeks to contribute to the sustainable production cycle, transforming the collected trees into compost that will help nourish crops, green areas and wooded areas of the district.

Mayor Alfa González Magallanes highlighted the importance of collecting natural Christmas trees and that neighbors act responsibly by not throwing them in the streets or on public roads.

«Plastic trees can take years to degrade and contribute to the waste problem, while opting for natural trees offers a sustainable alternative that allows us to give back to the earth with natural fertilizer,» she said.

Those interested can go to the collection centers at the Mayor’s Office, the General Directorate of Environment, the General Directorate of Urban Services, the Macondo Recreational Park and the Sanchez Taboada Sports Center from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

They can also take their natural trees to the following additional collection points: Superama de Acoxpa, Sumesa Acoxpa, Superama Unión 3 Lomas del Pedregal, Bodega Aurrera Insurgentes and Superama Jardines de la Montaña.

González Magallanes invited citizens to join this cause, actively participating by taking their natural pine trees to the collection centers and thus contributing to the environmental well-being of the community.
