#Guanajuato, #Gto.- With a forecast of more than 2,500 participants in three modalities, the first Capital Marathon will be run on Sunday, March 10 between the most emblematic streets and the most famous monuments of this Heritage City and Capital of Sports.

«This Marathon will help us attract more tourists from the sports segment and continue promoting sports, health and coexistence on a large scale,» shared the Mayor of Guanajuato Capital, Alejandro Navarro, emphasizing that there will be a purse of 248,000 pesos in prizes in this unprecedented event that will serve as preparation for runners who seek to break records in international competitions.

«The objective of this Marathon is very clear and is to position it as one of the best marathons in the country due to the complexity of the city’s morphology,» added the Municipal President.

Navarro also highlighted that the first woman and the first man from Guanajuato Capital to reach the finish line will be awarded the «Laura Esther Galván» commemorative prize.

Daniel Gutiérrez Meave, General Director of Tourism and Economic Development, estimated that the economic revenue will exceed 3 million 500 thousand pesos.

«The route will cover representative points of the city, such as El Pípila, Presa de la Olla, Plaza de la Paz and Plaza de los Ángeles, as well as the Juárez Theater, the Alhóndiga and the Santa Cecilia Castle,» informed the organizing committee of the Capital Marathon.
