#QuintanaRoo.- Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa led the presentation of the results of the Migration Governance Indicators (IGM), a study that analyzed around 80 items related to actions, programs, regulations and services available to ensure safe, regular and orderly migration.

Among these items are aspects related to human rights, access to basic services, strategic alliances, socioeconomic integration, risk and emergency management, as well as policies for the prevention of crimes such as human trafficking and human smuggling, among others.

After receiving these IGM from the representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Mexico, Dana Graber Ladek, Governor Mara Lezama stressed that the commitment of this government of profound transformation, through the New Agreement for the Welfare and Development of Quintana Roo, is to «strengthen, promote and monitor public policies on migration and human mobility under a gender perspective, of children and adolescents, and the basic principles of Human Rights».

Likewise, he pointed out that today the new regional movements, especially in the southern border, represent new challenges, that of shared responsibility, solidarity and regional responsibility. «Therefore, in the face of these realities, we cannot lower our arms and, through an open call from the heart, I ask that we continue working together for the respect of migrants and their families,» said Mara Lezama.

For her part, the IOM representative in Mexico, Dana Graber Ladek, endorsed the collaboration with the government of Quintana Roo by delivering the documents containing the report of the results of the IGMs.
