#EstadoDeVeracruz.- Let’s strengthen our identity, proudly preserve our traditions and ensure that new generations live our culture and feel it as their own,” urged Governor Cuitláhuac García Jiménez to Veracruz residents during the Day of the Dead celebrations.

Until November 3rd, the state is dressed in colors and marigold flowers with activities for the whole family. The celebration began on Tuesday with the inauguration of the traditional Altar de Muertos of the Superior Court of Justice and the exhibition of 22 altars, 10 monumental skulls and two giant catrinas organized by the State DIF.

This Wednesday, the vitality of the Mexican and Veracruz cultures was the protagonist in the allusive festival held in the building of the State Pension Institute and the opening of the Great Offering of the 10 regions of the entity; the latter in charge of the Ministry of Education of Veracruz, which expects an influx of more than 16 thousand people.

The Altars Exhibit at the San Carlos Fortress in Perote opened its doors with the installation of 32 altars that combine the ancestral and the modern, placed by the Secretariats of the State Government, IMSS Bienestar, the State Center for Alternative Justice, the State Human Rights Commission, the Superior Auditing Body and the municipalities of Perote, Las Vigas and Villa Aldama.

On the second floor, the Ministry of Culture placed an altar with the motif of Veracruzanos Ilustres (Illustrious Veracruzanos) next to that of the Superior Court of Justice. It is important to mention that the exhibition will have photo opportunity spaces located by the Secretariat of Tourism where visitors will be able to take souvenir photographs.
