#FederalGovernment, #Mexico.- FederalGovernment, #Mexico.- From Veracruz, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that among the priority actions for this state is the recovery of the petrochemical industry of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex). Therefore, together with the state government, the Escolín project in Poza Rica is being built for fertilizer production.
“In terms of energy, something very important, with which Rocío (Nahle, governor of Veracruz) is helping us, is the construction and complete rehabilitation of the Escolín project—we call it—in Poza Rica for fertilizer production, which has already begun. And we are recovering Pemex’s entire petrochemical industry,” she emphasized.
Additionally, as part of his accountability tour, he reported that 2,683,079 Veracruz residents are eligible for one of the Welfare Programs, which are rights established in the Constitution and granted through an annual investment of 59 billion pesos (mp). They receive them directly, without intermediaries and without conditions.
He recalled that the Welfare Programs, along with the increase in the minimum wage and the government’s restoration of public works, helped lift 13.5 million Mexicans out of poverty from 2018 to 2024, as well as reducing the inequality gap.
He detailed that in this state, 921,915 people receive the Pension for the Welfare of Older Adults; 114,062 receive the Pension for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities; 44,675 scholarships from Young People Building the Future; 27,056 from Young People Writing the Future; 248,631 from the Benito Juárez scholarships; 280,299 from primary school scholarships; 25,266 from the Bienpesca program; 178,068 from Production for Well-being; 159,440 with Free Fertilizers produced by Pemex; 61,350 from Sowing Life; 6,726 basic education schools and 684 high schools receive support through La Escuela es Nuestra; 252,664 from Milk for Well-being; as well as 205,184 from the Women’s Well-being Pension and 267,819 from the Rita Cetina scholarship.
