#Tlalnepantla, #StateOfMexico.- The Tlalnepantla government has launched an ambitious educational program that seeks to provide students with essential tools for a globalized world. As part of this program, 22,000 copies of English books were printed and distributed to 108 schools in the municipality. This initiative reflects the administration’s belief that language skills are key to youth’s personal and professional development.
During a visit to the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Elementary School, located in the Tabla Honda Housing Unit, Mayor Raciel Pérez Cruz emphasized the importance of English as the language of business. The mayor urged students to strive to master a second language, a goal he said will open doors for their future. His message underscores the importance of public education in shaping «well-rounded professionals.»

The head of the Municipal Institute for Participatory and Community Education, Enrique Torres Lozada, explained that the distribution of the books, under the slogan «Connecting Our City,» is a fundamental step in the transformation of public education. The materials, aimed at students in grades three through six, are the embodiment of a policy that seeks quality, equity, and the comprehensive education of children in the municipality.
To ensure the quality of the content, the books were reviewed by the language department of UNAM’s Iztacala Higher Education School (FES Iztacala). This analysis confirmed that the materials meet the pedagogical criteria of the New Mexican School. Additionally, Mayor Pérez Cruz announced the opening of a computer lab in the elementary school, a space that will complement learning with digital resources and reinforce students’ education.
