#Naucalpan, #StateOfMexico.- The Municipal President, Isaac Montoya Márquez, officially handed over the finished works to the residents of the La Nopalera neighbourhood, which included milling, levelling of the main street, and new public lighting. Residents expressed deep gratitude for these actions, which now ensure greater safety for children and adults during their daily routines, alongside a significant improvement in conditions for vehicles and pedestrians. Locals from the community expressed that this represents the first substantial attention given to their neighbourhood since its establishment approximately 15 years ago.
The community provided an emotional welcome to the Mayor, offering a communal meal where he reassured them of his commitment. Mr Montoya Márquez recalled that improvements for the community were first discussed during his initial visit about three years prior. «For us, it’s important to govern in favour of the causes of the majority. Today, we are doing what previous administrations neglected to do. For us, this is a matter of dignity; this is the commitment we will maintain throughout this government,» Montoya Márquez declared to the assembled residents.

During his engagement with the inhabitants, the Mayor formally acknowledged the community’s potential, noting that it still retains a natural ‘Ojo de Agua’ (Spring) and possesses a sense of neighbourly unity often lost in other areas. He stressed the importance of continuous communication, stating, «We must never lose sight of visiting the communities. You told us what needed to be done, and we did it. The best way to speak is always to act, and we did that. That is what drives and motivates us to move forward.» He attributed the administration’s capacity to deliver to a historical revenue collection, which reflects the public’s trust in the government’s work.
Local resident Araceli López Cimental emotionally remembered that before the work, the street was «impassable,» making it difficult for children to play or attend school. «Now our children are already going out with their bicycles, with their roller skates, and that fills me with joy,» she exclaimed, adding that «now we all live better» due to better transport and improved services. The Public Works Directorate successfully completed 1,800 cubic metres of milling and installed new public lighting, working for 25 days with machinery and the active participation of the neighbours.
