Despite obstacles, the Mayan Train will be inaugurated in December 2023: President Lopez Obrador

#CiudadDeMéxico. – Reiterating that despite the obstacles, the Mayan Train will be inaugurated in December 2023, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that it is necessary to have people in charge who are fully committed and will stop at nothing.

Referring to the recent appointment of Javier May Rodríguez as head of the Fondo Nacional de Fomento al Turismo (Fonatur), the agency in charge of the construction of the Tren Maya, the President pointed out that it cannot be considered whether they are friends or colleagues, since the work of transformation is something of greater dimensions and above all is the interest of the nation:

«We can love a person very much, but if he does not apply himself, is not enthusiastic, does not have enough convictions, does not internalize that we are living in a historic time; if he is thinking that it is the same routine life of the government, that everything is orthodox, that it does not matter that time is passing, well then he is not understanding that a transformation is a profound change, it is a revolution of consciences.»
