Federal and Nayarit governments sign agreement to transfer state health services to IMSS-Bienestar

#InstitutoMexicanoDelSeguroSocial.- The Secretary of Health, Jorge Alcocer Varela; the Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, and the Governor of the State of Nayarit, Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero, signed the minutes of integration of the transition table to finalize the transfer of state healthcare services as of April 1, through the IMSS-Bienestar program.

Inaugurating the work of the transition table at Casa Nayarit, the Secretary of Health, Jorge Alcocer Varela, stated that a few months after the beginning of this process of transformation of the health sector, it is progressing at a good pace. The country needs and requires this change, and it is a human duty as medical professionals interested in wellbeing and health, he said.

He said that informative assemblies will be held in the 16 hospitals and health centers of the entity so that the workers and users are aware of the process. This will require to be done in different indigenous languages. It is also necessary to work on the operational and labor guidelines.

To date, he said, more than 1,000 health workers in the three states involved in the federalization process have participated in the analysis of the health situation in terms of infrastructure, human resources, medical care and other indicators.
