Dr. Daniel Gurría Urgell» ISSSTE General Hospital begins operations in Tabasco

#InstitutoDeSeguridadYServiciosSocialesDeLosTrabajadoresDelEstado.- To strengthen the medical services provided to more than 760,000 beneficiaries in the southeast region of Mexico, Pedro Zenteno Santaella, Director General of the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste), accompanied by the Governor of Tabasco, Carlos Manuel Merino Campos, inaugurated the «Dr. Daniel Gurría Urgell» General Hospital in Villahermosa, Tabasco.

The head of Issste pointed out that the opening of this hospital represents a fundamental step in the Institute’s transformation strategy to improve and expand the medical infrastructure for the benefit of the Mexican population; «this is the instruction of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, with whom we made a commitment to open this unit in 45 days, and today this period is being fulfilled».

He emphasized that it is no coincidence to inaugurate this hospital on Teacher’s Day, since they represent an important number of beneficiaries to whom care is provided. Pedro Zenteno thanked all the areas of the institute for speeding up its delivery and called on the medical staff to make a great effort to ensure that it operates with quality and warmth.
