Health for Wellness Plan advances in five Mexican states

#InstitutoMexicanoDelSeguroSocial.- The Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, reported on the progress of the process of transforming state health services into the IMSS-BIENESTAR program, and various actions in the hiring of personnel, infrastructure and equipment in the states of San Luis Potosí, Tlaxcala, Nayarit, Colima and Sonora.

During the press conference at the National Palace, headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the IMSS Director General pointed out that with the support of the government of San Luis Potosí, the survey of information was completed in 303 First Level units, 13 Second Level hospitals and two Third Level hospitals.

As a result of this census, it was necessary to reorganize the staff and hire 517 doctors, 1,63 nurses and 190 paramedics.

Zoé Robledo detailed that in hospital infrastructure, eight Neonatal Special Care Units, four spaces for emergencies, 31 consulting rooms, 16 combs for laboratories, medical residences and the expansion of 13 hospital care modules are required; likewise, 2,907 First Level equipment and 2,580 Second Level equipment are needed.
