#Tecámac, #StateOfMexico. – Women are a fundamental piece for the transformation of the country, said the municipal president Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante, when she was appointed as a member of the Illustrious and Meritorious Mexican Society of Geography and Statistics of the State of Mexico.

Within the framework of the 145th anniversary of this institution, the mayor pointed out that in the current times there is no room for lukewarmness or trifles, that is why the people of the State of Mexico are prepared for a woman to be elected to the government of the State of Mexico and to the presidency of the Republic.

She emphasized that the development of women in public service has not been easy and represents a double challenge, because they have to overcome the stereotypes that still prevail in a patriarchal, cacique and macho culture.

Gutiérrez Escalante emphasized that the achievements of his government are based on the three fundamental principles: do not lie, do not steal and do not betray. And the fourth that has been established in Tecámac: to be efficient.

«I open a parenthesis to honor the memory of Doña Rosario Ibarra de Piedra, a woman who overcame the intimidations of the regime, in the search for Jesus, and hundreds, perhaps thousands, of others who disappeared in the dirty war at the hands of the repressive arms of the State. We Mexicans owe her a great deal for the struggle for human rights since the 70’s of the last century, and her activism was a fundamental piece in the crumbling of the political system that had been thrown into disarray».
