DIF Celaya and Red Cross coordinate actions in favor of our Seniors

#Celaya, #Gto.- DIF Celaya and the Mexican Red Cross will carry out actions in favor of the elderly. This week two representatives of the volunteer area of this noble institution met with the President of the Board of Trustees, Rosa Maria Suarez de Mendoza and the General Director Maria del Carmen Nunez Mares to provide training to prevent and avoid accidents for our community of seniors.

Susana Ledezma Guzmán and María Eugenia Guzmán, from the Local Coordination of Volunteer Ladies informed that they are looking to generate an alliance with the System for the Integral Development of the Family.

«It is about making an alliance to do workshops on accident prevention in older adults and some other topics within that same community, it is about working in all the gerontological centers, which have in Celaya and in communities to give them talks, fall prevention, the importance of taking their medications, healthy eating, use of devices for people with disabilities.»

«It is about raising awareness and prevention since the greatest number of accidents in older adults are at home, this is a program that we have in Red Cross called Con Mayor Cuidado, and up to this moment we approached with DIF», she said.
