«Ensayo de Flora Onírica», by Daniel Godínez Nivón, will represent Mexico at the 23rd Milan Triennale

#SecretaríaDeCultura.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico announce that Mexico will be present at the 23rd International Triennial Exhibition of Milan, through the exhibition «Ensayo de Flora Onírica», by artist Daniel Godínez Nivón. The great event will take place from July 15 to December 11, 2022 at the Palazzo dell’Arte in the aforementioned city in northern Italy.

This artistic proposal consists of a landscape of flowers and plants discovered by a group of girls and adolescents in their dreams, as a result of the workshop «Propedéutico Onírico» that the artist carried out in 2015, at the invitation of curator Jessica Berlanga Taylor, at the Yolia home in Mexico City.

Based on the traditional knowledge of midwives from an indigenous Triqui community of San Juan Copala, in the state of Oaxaca, Godínez Nivón conducted collective work sessions in which the possibility of sharing dreams was explored. As a result of these sessions, the participants of this experience began to dream the flora that is part of this project, which, thanks to the collaboration with scientists, comes to life through 3D modeling and animation that will be exhibited in Milan.
