AEM, INAOE, IPN, UAZ, UNAM and UPAEP train specialists in Global Positioning Satellite Systems

#SecretaríaDeInfraestructuraComunicacionesYTransporte.- The Mexican Space Agency (AEM), a decentralized agency of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), established a joint collaboration program with five scientific and higher education institutions to promote the development in Mexico of technologies and applications related to Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS).

The general director of the AEM, Salvador Landeros Ayala, explained that this is the first specialized program of its kind in Latin America, called «Orolia Academic Partnership Program – OAPP» Mexico Chapter (Mexico Research and Academic Program – MRAP), which promotes research and education through the use of specialized software (Skydel) for the development of these projects.

This leading French organization, with presence in more than 100 countries, will provide free licenses to the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Popular Autonomous University of the State of Puebla (UPAEP).

Robert Burke, Orolia’s Senior Director of Development, acknowledged via video message the efforts of the AEM for the achievement of this program, and welcomed the representatives of the affiliated institutions, expressing his excitement to work together on innovative projects in Skydel for the development of technological skills, both with students and teachers.
