México and U.S. agree to increase temporary work visas in the U.S.

#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador highlighted the agreement reached with his U.S. counterpart, Joseph Biden, in Washington, D.C., to grant more temporary work visas to migrants working in the agricultural, service and industrial sectors.

«We talked about the need to expand the number of temporary work visas for Mexico, Central America. This was accepted, the number of work visas to enter the United States will be considerably increased, of course, the basic approach was to promote productive activities, to unite to increase production in the United States, in Mexico», he stressed.

In a morning press conference, the President emphasized the importance of legalizing those who have been living and working in that country for a long time.

«We talked about regularizing the situation of our migrant countrymen; I told President Biden that we had to give them peace of mind, certainty, because they have been working in an honest way for years,» he said.
