Edoméx, CDMX, Michoacán and Conagua sign agreement for the recovery of the El Bosque-Colorines waterway

#EstadoDeMéxico.- To overcome the enormous challenges faced by the State of Mexico, Mexico City and Michoacán in terms of drinking water supply, Governor Alfredo Del Mazo Maza, the Head of Government of the national capital, Claudia Sheinbaum, and Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, Governor of Michoacán, signed a Collaboration Agreement on water issues, through which the three entities, together with Conagua, committed to technify 3,300 hectares adjacent to the «El Bosque-Colorines» canal.

According to the Mexican President, this is the first time in history that the Governments of Mexico City and the State of Estado de Estado de México invest more than 300 million pesos for works that will strengthen the operation of the Cutzamala System, and he explained that the resources for this project are part of the 1928 Trust Fund, which are normally used to improve the water infrastructure of both entities.

«It is the first time that an investment of this type is made, where through the resources collected by two entities, Mexico City and the State of Mexico, in the 1928 Trust, is invested in a third entity, normally these resources are invested for works that benefit Mexico City or the State of Mexico.

«And this is the first time that this resource is invested in a third entity, precisely to strengthen this system and thanks to the joint effort between both entities to invest more than 300 million pesos in the technification of these irrigation districts for the benefit of the State of Michoacán,» Del Mazo Maza said.
