Querétaro, In «Aztechsat New Generation» Satellite Project With AEM And NASA

#SecretaríaDeInfraestructuraComunicacionesYTransporte.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), through the Mexican Space Agency (AEM), announced that it will collaborate jointly with NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) in the development of the «AztechSat New Generation» satellites, a project that Queretaro has now joined.

In this regard, the Director General of the AEM, Salvador Landeros Ayala, was pleased by the fact that the Aeronautical University of Queretaro (UNAQ) and the Polytechnic University of Queretaro (UPQ), have joined in alliance to this emblematic project, formalizing it by signing an agreement with the AEM.

«We are pleased with the enthusiasm and commitment with which the UNAQ and UPQ have joined the AEM-NASA team in the «AztechSat New Generation» project, in which the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Popular Autonomous University of the State of Puebla (UPAEP) and the Panamerican University (UP) are also involved,» he said.

With the «AztechSat New Generation» project, he said, satellite technology will be developed which, although it will be useful for lunar exploration, since Mexico has adhered to the Artemis Program, it will be applied in the first instance to the priority social task here on Earth, the care of marine fauna and the environment.
