The Secretary of Economy receives request for review from the United States under the MEFTA

#SecretaríaDeEconomía.- The United States has formally requested Mexico to conduct a review of an alleged denial of freedom of association and collective bargaining rights at the Manufacturas VU, S. de R.L. de C.V. plant located in Piedras Negras, Coahuila.

The above, within the framework of the Rapid Response Labor Mechanism in Specific Mexico-United States Facilities of Annex 31-A of the Agreement between Mexico, the United States and Canada (T-MEC).

Mexico, through the Ministry of Economy, has 10 days to notify whether or not it will review the request.

The Government of Mexico reiterates its commitment to the effective application of the provisions established in the T-MEC and in national legislation, thereby guaranteeing transparency and certainty for Mexican workers.
