Mayoress of Tecámac, Mariela Gutiérrez asks Conagua to halt concessions to privileged groups

#Tecámac, #EstadoDeMéxico.- The president of the Association of Local Authorities of Mexico AC (AALMAC) and mayoress of Tecámac, Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante, requested the National Water Commission (Conagua) to act with determination to correct the abuses of the past, in which concessions were granted to privileged sectors that affected the majority.

During his participation in the Regional Forum of Metropolitan Zones, which was held in this municipality, she stressed the importance of making the water supply more efficient and avoiding privileges, in order to avoid supply problems as occurs in Nuevo Leon and other states in the north of the country.

She said that this type of forum should be used to discuss the care of natural resources, mainly water, in order to avoid making the same mistakes, and considered that governments should cooperate and deepen in the solutions to each of the problems experienced by the progressive municipalities of the country.

Before municipal presidents and federal and state authorities, she asked federal deputy Rubén Muñoz, president of the Water Resources Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, for his support so that they can discuss this issue and legislate to prevent privileged groups from benefiting from these concessions.

Gutiérrez Escalante also pointed out that it is necessary to allocate more resources to metropolitan areas, as the Mexican government is already doing in different latitudes, through programs and projects such as urban improvement, dam construction, road modernization or mass transportation.

In a subsequent interview, he pointed out that the purpose of this type of forum is precisely to share experiences and look for coincidences in the problems in order to find solutions and avoid making the same mistakes.
