The International Forum Culture for Peace will be held at the Center for the Arts in Tlaxcala / @alefrausto @cultura_mx >>

#SecretaríaDeCultura.- Culture as an axis to strengthen public policies, which in a sustainable way allow to face the local and global challenges of this time, will be the topic of reflection during the International Forum Culture for Peace, to be held next August 19 from 10: 00 hours at the Center for the Arts of Tlaxcala, as part of the activities towards the World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (Mondiacult) 2022 to be held by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) and the Ministry of Culture of the Federal Government.

The forum, which is being held in coordination with the IberCultura Viva program, through the General Directorate of Cultural Linkage, and the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Tlaxcala, will involve actors and institutions belonging to academia, government and civil society and, in particular, with the participation of representative figures from indigenous communities and the LGBTTTIQ+ community.

In this regard, the Secretary of Culture in Tlaxcala, Antonio Martínez Velázquez, commented: «We seek to build a space conducive to dialogue between communities, cultural agents and those interested in the subject, so that in the end we can generate contributions for the formation of global public agendas on culture, sustainable development and peaceful environments».

Respect for life, for human beings, for dignity, for the environment, and for living together while rejecting violence are universal values and principles that will be the subject of reflection during the work. Through a hybrid format that includes on-site and virtual activities, the International Forum Culture for Peace begins with the keynote lecture entitled -Reflections on the concept of Culture of Peace-, given by Laura Collin Harguindegay, member of the Colegio de Tlaxcala.
