#SECTUR.- Inaugurating the 37th edition of ABASTUR at the Citibanamex Center in Mexico City, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) emphasized that for this reason, a series of actions are being carried out to strengthen tourism activity in all corners of the country, so that no more than 92.5% of international tourists are concentrated in just six tourist destinations.
Accompanied by the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City, Nathalie Desplas Puel, and business leaders of the sector, he indicated that one of these actions is the creation of integrated «anchor products» in order to expand and diversify the offer, as well as to promote the configuration of attractive circuits.
«It is important to emphasize that in this work we work hand in hand with the private sector, as well as with state and municipal authorities, with the sole purpose of responding to the tastes and expectations of an increasingly demanding and informed tourist,» he said.
Torruco Marqués pointed out that in this sense there is the Museum of Mexican Hotels in the Magic Town of Orizaba, Veracruz; the Armando Manzanero Museum in Mérida, Yucatán; the GNP Seguros Arena, venue of the Mexican Tennis Open in Acapulco, Guerrero; the Chinesca in Mexicali, Baja California; the Beatles Alley in Mazatlán, Sinaloa; among others; and he highlighted the Islas Marías integral project.
