#Veracruz, #Ver.- Contributing to the improvement of the environment with a responsible handling of used tires, Mayoress Patricia Lobeira de Yunes gave the starting signal for the trailers that will support the transfer of more than 7 thousand tires to be recycled and give them a new use.

«Through the Department of Environment and Animal Protection, we actively collaborate in the care of our habitat and that Veracruz is cleaner every day; in my administration we are committed to maintain the necessary actions to reverse the environmental deterioration,» said the Mayoress during the event held at the Magic Kingdom Park.

Used tires are a problem for society because once their useful life is over, they become pollutant waste and with the passage of time, chemical degradation occurs, contaminating the soil, in addition to being extremely harmful to health. Their degradation can last up to 500 years.

In addition, having them in the backyards of homes in the open contributes to the generation of mosquitoes that cause dengue, chikungunya, and other diseases.
