During this long weekend, SICT asks to drive with caution and respect traffic signs and signals / @SCT_mx >>>

#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) recommends that, when going out on the road this long weekend on the occasion of the Fiestas Patrias, drive with caution and respect the traffic signs.

It is estimated that 70.68 percent of traffic accidents are attributable to the driver, 13.78 percent to the road, 8.07 percent to a vehicle failure and 7.47 percent to a natural agent.

For safety reasons, slow down in the following cases: when entering a town, when turning, when changing from high to low lane, when your field of vision is reduced, when reaching intersections with other streets, on curves and ridges, on winding roads, at night and when entering bridges, tunnels or overpasses.

Always consider braking capacity. Therefore, it is advisable that your car is in good condition. Before starting your trip, take it to the mechanic for an inspection, check suspension, alignment and balance, as well as gas, water and oil gauges.

Respect the basic rules of all good drivers: use seat belts, do not use cell phones, respect speed limits and do not drive after drinking alcohol or under the influence of drugs.
