Government of México conducts infrastructure damage assessment after Hurricane Kay in BC and BCS / @SCT_mx >>>

#SICT.- Heads of the Ministries of the Navy (SEMAR), Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) and the National Civil Protection Coordinator (CNPC) carried out an assessment of the damage caused by Hurricane Kay in the states of Baja California and Baja California Sur, in order to initiate an urgent attention plan for road infrastructure.

The Secretary of the Navy (SEMAR), José Rafael Ojeda Durán; the Head of the SICT Office, Jorge Nuño Lara; the National Civil Protection Coordinator (CNPC), Laura Velázquez Alzúa, aboard a SEMAR aircraft, flew over the areas of Guerrero Negro, Bahía de Los Ángeles, El vado de San Pablito and Bahía Tortugas, all in Baja California Sur, which suffered the most damage.

The Secretary of the Navy, José Rafael Ojeda Durán, informed that the President’s instruction is to provide immediate attention to the most affected population.

State and local authorities participated in the overflights and provided information and diagnostics, in order to enrich the design of urgent action strategies for the prompt recovery.
