#GobiernoDeMéxico.- During El Pulso de la Salud, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador highlighted the reduction in deaths due to COVID-19 in the last eleven weeks, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

«We are on our way out, but we cannot neglect ourselves, say ‘it’s all over’, we have to remain vigilant, (…) the most important thing is that the number of people who lose their lives due to COVID has already decreased,» he stressed.

In a morning press conference, the President mentioned that the COVID-19 pandemic represented a difficult time, however, the people’s support was reflected in moments of uncertainty and sadness.

«Of course, it is not an easy matter to overcome, but it was faced. People helped a lot, the solidarity of Mexicans was shown, also the support of doctors, nurses, of the whole health sector», he expressed.

The Chief Executive highlighted the decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases, although, he said, we must not lower our guard.

«More than saying ‘the pandemic is over’, that is to say, the contagion is decreasing, the severity, we are going to wait because, as the doctors say, it is not going to disappear completely, but it no longer has the pandemic effect it had,» he added.
