Conacyt and Conafe sign agreement to strengthen community education in México / @Letamaya @SEP_mx >>>
#SEP.- Within the framework of a deep, broad and relevant educational transformation in Mexico, the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) and the National Council for the Promotion of Education (Conafe) celebrated the signing of a General Collaboration Agreement to establish actions, programs, projects, strategies, studies and research aimed at promoting the welfare of the people through the community education model.
The public ceremony was headed by the general director of Conacyt, María Elena Álvarez-Buylla Roces; the general director of Conafe, Gabriel Cámara Cervera; and the director of Community Education for Wellbeing also of Conafe, Pilar Farrés González Saravia. The agreement establishes an inter-institutional and collaborative alliance whose guiding principle is to promote and strengthen the teaching-learning model from a humanistic and scientific vision that allows, in turn, the full exercise of the constitutional rights to education and science in the communities of Mexico.
At the protocol ceremony, the Director General of Conacyt, María Elena Álvarez-Buyllá Roces, emphasized that the new educational project finds in the Council a crucial ally to advance towards a truly scientific, inclusive, intercultural, critical education, with a gender perspective and a basis for social welfare, especially in favor of the most forgotten sectors during the neoliberal regime.
Through five pillars, he explained, Conacyt and Conafe will share processes of accompaniment and specialized advice for: the voluntary linking of researchers with community educators who contribute to the generation and development of knowledge; the elaboration of accessible educational texts and materials that contribute to learning based on dialogue and exchange; the organization of regional meetings that promote the welfare of communities; research and advocacy to strengthen educational practice; and dissemination focused on community education, through materials in different formats.
