#IMSS.- On Thursday, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) formed the Citizens’ Committee for the Follow-up of the Construction of the General Zone Hospital in Ciudad Juarez, located on the site of the old racetrack and former racetrack, which will be transparent and will follow up on each of the stages of this project that fulfills the presidential promise made to the people of Juarez to strengthen the health of the area’s inhabitants.

The general director of IMSS, Zoé Robledo, accompanied by the governor of Chihuahua, María Eugenia Campos Galván, and the mayor of Ciudad Juárez, Cruz Pérez Cuellar, swore in the members of this civil society group.

In his message, Zoé Robledo said that the aim was to form a committee that would involve state and municipal authorities and, above all, society so that it would be present at every stage, so that the hospital would be operational in 2024.

He thanked Governor María Eugenia Campos Galván because with the appointment of the state representative, the Secretary of Innovation and Economic Development, María Angélica Granados Trespalacios, it will be possible to move forward in the construction, equipment and personnel recruitment stages.

He recalled that the construction of the hospital began in 2013 by the Ministry of Health due to the need to increase medical care and specialties, they faced several problems to continue with the work, particularly due to the ownership of the land, so President López Obrador proposed a different route and made the commitment that it would be built.
