#BenitoJuárez, #CDMX.- The Mayor of Benito Juarez, Santiago Taboada, announced the World Padel Tour Mexico Open 2022, an event of international stature which will be held from November 22 to 27 at the Juan de la Barrera Olympic Gymnasium, inside the Olympic Complex «Mexico 68», which, he said, is a worthy public space of the highest quality.
«We will be very happy to receive them, because we are convinced that not only for the practice of a sport, but also because we are giving people another option to get involved in a healthy and completely familiar sporting activity, and that makes us very proud. Thank you for the confidence of choosing Benito Juárez, of being able to have this great option, especially for the symbolic nature of the venue, for how well maintained it is, because we have given it a lot of maintenance. The impression we also want them to take away from Benito Juarez is that sometimes they do not need to look for other places, that here there are public spaces and public sports of the same quality as any private space», highlighted the mayor.
Likewise, Santiago Taboada highlighted that as long as there are more public spaces and more sports offer, there will be more girls, boys, young people and active adults in this city, so he recalled that in recent days the first public paddle tennis court in Mexico City was inaugurated for this purpose.
«It is a sport that if you are not registered in a club or if you do not have access to it at home, it is difficult to practice it and that is why we visualize it as another public sports facility. It gives me great pleasure to pass by División del Norte or Río Churubusco every night and see the court full, that was the intention that those who did not have the possibility or who were not registered could practice it there… The vision that those of us who are on this side of the coin, or this side of the court, have to have is to massify the sports activity», the mayor emphasized.
