#ISSSTE.- In order to contribute to improve the quality of life and offer recreational activities that benefit the health and well-being of the elderly, the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste) is implementing the Centro de Convivencia para Pensionados y Jubilados (Convive) program, a space that offers lodging, food, cultural and recreational outings to this sector of the population.

As part of the strategy headed by the Director General, Pedro Zenteno Santaella, to move towards a new Issste, the Regulatory Directorate of Economic, Social and Cultural Benefits, headed by Yezmín Lehmann Mendoza, implements activities that strengthen the coexistence and integration of members with kindness, commitment and dignified treatment, mainly for the vulnerable population.

In addition, various medical talks on self-esteem and promotion of physical and emotional self-care are given, with the purpose of empowering them and increasing their quality of life.

In turn, the Deputy Director of Social and Cultural Services, Francisco Enrique Pérez Hernández, explained that the Convive is located in Mexico City, where groups of pensioners and retirees from four different states are received every week.

From Sunday, when they arrive at this space, and until Friday, different recreational activities and cultural trips are scheduled to places in the center of the country, including Issstehuixtla, the institute’s vacation center, he explained.
