Metropolitan agreement signed for regional coordination in the eastern zone of the Valley of México / @alfredodelmazo @Edomex >>>

#Edoméx.- The municipalities of Chalco, Valle de Chalco Solidaridad, La Paz and Ixtapaluca, together with the municipalities of Tláhuac and Iztapalapa of Mexico City, signed the «Metropolitan Framework Agreement for Regional Coordination», with the objective of strengthening institutional capacities and building metropolitan policy agreements in the eastern zone of the Valley of Mexico.

Pablo Basáñez García, General Director of Projects and Metropolitan Coordination of the Ministry of Urban Development and Works, pointed out that this unprecedented demonstration of will and cooperation of the districts that make up the region will benefit more than 4 million inhabitants in areas such as drinking water, public safety, mobility, solid waste, civil protection and risk management, to consolidate an orderly and competitive urban growth.

The agreement was signed by the presidents of the municipalities of Valle de Chalco Solidaridad, Armando García Méndez, José Miguel Gutiérrez Morales, of Chalco, Felipe Rafael Arvizu de la Luz, of Ixtapaluca, and Cristina González Cruz, of La Paz, as well as Mayor Clara Brugada Molina, of Iztapalapa, and Roberto Mejía Méndez, representing Mayor Berenice Hernández Calderón, of Tláhuac.

The Joint Technical Secretariat of the Metropolitan Development Council of the Valley of Mexico, made up of representatives of the governments of the State of Mexico, Mexico City, Hidalgo and the Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu), will follow up on the working groups and regional agreements derived from the agreement.
