#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) highlighted that, according to information from the Migratory Policy Unit-Registration and Identity of Persons of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), this figure also exceeds arrivals for the same period in 2019, with 7.3%, when 15 million 517 thousand international tourists were registered.

He indicated that the main countries in international tourist arrivals by air to Mexico from January to October 2022, were the United States, Canada and Colombia, with 12 million 583 thousand tourists; this is 47% more compared to 2021, and also surpassing by 15.7% the 10 million 871 thousand tourists of 2019.

Torruco Marqués pointed out that during the first 10 months of the year, U.S. tourist arrivals by air reached 10 million 654 thousand tourists, which means 32.7% more compared to 2021, when 8 million 31 thousand tourists arrived, also surpassing by 23.7% the 2019 arrivals, which were 8 million 616 thousand tourists.

He added that Canadian tourist arrivals between January and October 2022 were one million 210 thousand tourists, which is 522.2% higher than the 194 thousand 524 tourists that arrived in 2021; being 31.5% away from reaching those captured in 2019, which were one million 767 thousand tourists.
